GST MONTHLY,QUARTERLY & ANNUAL FILLINGS

Goods and Services Tax (GST) filings in India are categorized into monthly, quarterly, and annual returns based on the type and turnover of the taxpayer.

  1. Monthly GST Filing:
    • Most regular taxpayers are required to file monthly GST returns. The key monthly returns are GSTR-1 (Outward Supplies), GSTR-3B (Summary Return), and GSTR-2A (Auto-drafted details of Inward Supplies). These returns are usually due by the 20th of the following month.
  2. Quarterly GST Filing:
    • Small taxpayers with an aggregate turnover up to a specified limit have the option to file quarterly returns. The key quarterly return is GSTR-1 (Outward Supplies). The summary return, GSTR-3B, is still required to be filed monthly. The due dates for quarterly returns are typically the 13th of the month following the end of the quarter.
  3. Annual GST Filing:
    • All regular taxpayers are required to file an annual return known as GSTR-9. This return consolidates the entire year’s financial information and must be filed by December 31st of the subsequent financial year. There are separate forms for different categories of taxpayers, such as GSTR-9 for regular taxpayers and GSTR-9A for composition scheme taxpayers.
